My name is Sara Hester, owner of Studio S. I am so glad you are interested in my program! I want to tell you a little about myself, what I do, and why I do it. I was born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi. Life in the Delta is what I have always known. I grew up playing every sport and always being involved in activities. When I graduated from high school, I played basketball at Delta State University. Elementary Education was my major and what I thought I always wanted to do. Once I graduated, I moved back home and began teaching at Greenville Christian where I coached basketball as well. A friend and I decided we were going to start working out. We joined a local 24 hour gym where a manager approached me and said “Hey, do you think you’d ever be interested in leading an aerobics class?” I laughed and said “absolutely not.” I had never even done a fitness class before, much less was I going to lead one. After we left, the thought didn’t leave my mind. I thought on it for a few days, and decided to use my second graders as guinea pigs. I would take them to the gym at recess and teach them how to exercise. Little did I know, I had just discovered my passion. I went back to the manager and told him I wanted to teach the class. I did a little “audition” for them, and they said let’s try it. I studied and researched and tried to become the best instructor I could be. I taught there for a few years and decided I wanted to branch out on my own while still teaching school. I thought it’d be a good way to get extra side money and offer classes at my convenience. I searched high and low for an inexpensive place to rent. Just when I thought that I found the place, it fell through so I gave up on opening my own place. Only a week later, a friend text and said “hey, you should open a place up for people who aren’t members of the 24 hour gym”. I told her I was actually looking for one and she said her mom had a place open up that day. I called her mom and met her at the 1000 square foot location. I signed a lease that day and started working. I expected this huge grand opening in April of 2014, only to have 4 people show up. Instead of giving up, I worked every hour of the day to make my business known. Within 11 months, I outgrew my little rented spot and bought a building of my own that had three times the space. In March of 2015, I got to call my Studio owned and official. I resigned from teaching that summer. The summer of 2016 also brought on new additions. I built another gym adjacent to my other one to have more room for clients and offer various classes and fitness levels. That same summer, we recorded a DVD that has taken off on amazon prime! In the summer of 2017, I added another location in Cleveland, MS. Shortly after, I launched a Studio S App. So here we are now, with the addition of Studio S Elite. I want to spread my love and passion for fitness and helping others achieve self confidence and gain in their health. I can’t physically be in anymore locations, but I can sure teach others with the same love for helping others how to be successful. Let me help you, sign up for my new program!
